The disease is a group of hereditary disorders that damage the nerves in your arms and your legs (peripheral nerves). There are several other names for Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease such as: Charcot-Marie-Tooth Syndrome, CMT, Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy, HMSN, and Charcot-Marie-Tooth Hereditary Neuropathy.
