Symptoms

The main signs and symptoms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease are: muscle weakness, decreased muscle size, sensory issues in affect area(s), foot deformities (hammertoes, high arches, etc.), and hand deformities (hand contractions, tight muscles, etc.) Many individuals with CMT have a lot of difficulty walking because of weakened muscles. The symptoms typically appear in adolescence or early adulthood, but can also develop in midlife too.
